The bi-annual competition 'creates what moves you' (Maak wat je raakt) was in the summer of 2009. The theme was 'Keeping your roots in sight'.
You only have to look at a television screen to learn all about world history and on Hyves you can see how your friends are doing, but how did your family originate, why are you living where you are, what exactly was your grandmother's mother's name? Do you resemble anybody, either physically or your character? Those are things you can not conjure up out of your cell phone or computer. For this you need to discover your own roots!
Competitors made a short film (minimum 2, maximum 3 minutes) of an interview with someone telling a story about an important happening or moment which made the person who he/she became. The film that moved the jury (after all, the competition is called 'Make what moves you'), became the winner! The first prize was a photo shoot.
The competition was held via all teachers of social sciences and history in junior high schools. But anyone who came across the competition and met the requirements could join. You will find a link to the actual website of 'Make what moves you'. Since the competition was held in the Netherlands, this website is available in Dutch only.

In our Sunday services we reflect on values as sense of forgiving in the day tot day practice.
