It is not strange that in a Society that calls itself 'Apostolic', the Apostle plays an important part. The word apostle, in everyday language, is more often than not used to mean a disciple of Jesus, sent to impart the gospel. Inside the Society we use this title for the person most responsible for spiritual care. He also has an important roll in the Society's policy. Important tasks he fulfills are: the writing of the weekly letter for the Sunday service, the appointment of the pastors and other carers and, he is chairman of the Board. The Apostle is for many Apostolic people a friend and mentor for life's questions and he is for them an inspiration for persevering with a loving lifestyle. At the moment Mr. Bert Wiegman fulfills this task.He is helped by the Opziener, Mr. J.C.W. Zwart. An opziener (superintendent) is a personal counsellor to the Apostle with regard to the content of the spiritual care provided and gives assistance to the appointment of spiritual carers. He is responsible as board member for the development of the spiritual care and is ad interim for the Apostle when necessary.
The Apostolic Society is a contemporary religious community. We feel connected to the eternal mystery of creation, which we call God or Almighty.
In our Sunday services we reflect on values as sense of forgiving in the day tot day practice.
