The Apostolic Society is a denomination with about 17.500 members. The final responsibility for spiritual care lies with the Apostle. He is assisted by the opziener and by the district carers group.
There are 86 communities in the Netherlands and five abroad. Geographically they are divided into nine districts with one district abroad. Each district is under the guidance of a district carer. Each community is under the guidance of a pastor, who is helped by a pastoral care group. Those in this group are appointed by the Apostle following a preceding consultation.
The responsibility of management lies with the Board of Directors which is made up of seven members. This board is chaired by the Apostle. The Council of Advisors checks the policy of the Board.
Policy preparation and execution (for instance, the development of spiritual carers, housing, administration, communication, research, youth policy, finances and ict) are supported by the Service centre, situated in Baarn. Throughout the Society volunteers play an active role in project groups or have a supportive function within the communities.
The Apostolic Society is a contemporary religious community. We feel connected to the eternal mystery of creation, which we call God or Almighty.
In our Sunday services we reflect on values as sense of forgiving in the day tot day practice.
